Hi Everyone,

Welcome to STAR Catholic Outreach! My name is Clare Ganton, and I am the Humanities teacher which means I oversee the English-Language Arts, Social Studies, Religious Studies, and Career and Life Management courses. I started teaching in 2005 in Cold Lake, and then transferred to Christ the King in Leduc. While I loved teaching at CTK, in 2007, I decided to leave for Busan, South Korea where I lived and taught for two years.  It was a phenomenal experience!  During my time there, I realized that I love teaching to smaller groups and individual students. Therefore, when I made the decision to move back to Canada and STAR Catholic, I applied to work at the Outreach School in order to continue expanding my skills in this type of teaching and learning environment.

The aspect I find most exciting about the Outreach environment is the number of choices that each student has when it comes to planning their education including what, how, and when they will study. I also love that the environment allows us as teachers to fashion our teaching to each student’s individual learning styles and needs. I look forward to meeting with all of you in this upcoming year.
